PLAYERS RATINGS: Arsenal 0-1 Everton.

Another poor performance by Arsenal against a tough team, where a win wasn’t impossible against Everton, but with the wrong formation and poor performance the team showed today against the Magpies. Arsenal had a very poor first half, where they conceded early in the match and were close to conceding on several occasions, but Everton failed to convert the chances.

Unai Emery started the match with a wrong formation, where he started Mohamed Elneny alongside Matteo Guendouzi in the midfield where both have the same defensive role, and this led to Arsenal’s lack of creativity and the poor performance Alexander Lacazette and Mesut Ozil, alongside Henrikh Mkhitaryan who disappeared in the first half.

Arsenal’s loss today was a huge favor for Tottenham Hotspurs, Chelsea FC, and Manchester United where Arsenal is one point under Tottenham Hotspur, the same number of points of Chelsea with a goal difference, and two points above Manchester United. This is a huge loss and disadvantage for Arsenal in the road to the Champions League qualification for next season, even though Arsenal’s upcoming matches are easier on papers than their rivals.
