PLAYERS RATINGS: Chelsea 3-2 Arsenal

Another disappointing loss for Unai Emery and Arsenal fans, and another great win and scoring three more goals for the Blues Chelsea and Mauricio Sarri, Chelsea’s manager, after Chelsea have won 3-2 against Arsenal in the Premier League Matchday 2 in the big London Derby.

Both teams had a very bad first half where Chelsea started well until the 25th minute where they scored two goals, and then Arsenal came back and scored two goals and equalized in the in the last 20 minutes of the first half.

Moreover, Chelsea and thanks to their superstar, Eden Hazard, they were able to score the third and winning goal in a balanced second half where both teams improved their defense and attack as well, but the Belgian superstar made the difference and assisted a goal to Marcos Alonso.

Chelsea players ratings:

Kepa: An average match, wasn’t at fault for the goals. 6.5/10

Azpilicueta: A bad first half, but a better second half. Still not like his form last season. 6.5/10

Rudiger: A poor performance and partnership with David Luiz. 5/10

Luiz: A lot of individual mistakes. 5/10

Alonso: Best player for Chelsea, a great assist and winning goal from the Spaniard. 8/10

Barkley: Made a couple of shots on target, but his effort was saved by Petr Cech and the post. 6.5/10

Kante: Not his best match for Chelsea, he is having a conflict while trying to play out of position. 6.5/10

Jorginho: Not like the previous match, wasn’t very good in the defense. 6/10

Willian: Lost the ball in the first goal to Nacho Monreal, but had a good match. 7/10

Morata: Scored a goal and was close to scoring the other goal. A good match from the Spaniard as well. 7.5/10

Pedro: A very important goal and good effort going forward.. 7.5/10




Hazard: His presence always makes the difference. Assisted the third and winning goal. 6.5/10

Oliver Giroud: Was close to scoring twice, but couldn’t. 5.5/10




 Arsenal players ratings:

Petr Cech:  Couldn’t really do much to stop the goals.  6/10

Shkodran Mustafi: Arsenal can’t win anything with Mustafi as a defender, terrible positioning, and performance. 5/10

Sokratis Papastathopoulos: Terrible performance as well, but was a bit better in the second half. 5/10

Hector Bellerin: Was good at crosses, but so bad in the attack. 6/10

Nacho Monreal: Was lively on the left side in the attack, but didn’t offer much in the defense. 6.5/10

Granit Xhaka:  Terrible first half, was replaced in the second half. Booked. 5/10

Matteo Guendouzi: An okay match, tried to score as well from outside the area. 7/10

Alex Iwobi: Missed a chance and scored another. Tried to score from outside the area as well. 7.5/10

Henrikh Mkhitaryan:  Maybe Arsenal’s best player, but still not the best. Scored and assisted, and missed as well. 7.5/10

Mesut Ozil: Went missing again. 5/10
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: Maybe his worst match for Arsenal so far, missed two easy chances. 5/10


Aaron Ramsey: Brought some life to the attack, but couldn’t do much. 6/10
Alexander Lacazette: Was close to scoring, had to start over Auba in the second half. 5.5/10
Lucas Torreira: Had a good match in the minutes he played, has to play more often instead of Xhaka. 6/10
Man of the match: Marcos Alonso deserves it, one assist and one goal.
