PLAYERS RATINGS: Man United 0-1 Barca

A poor match for Manchester United, where the attack wasn’t so effective, but they just conceded once from a defensive mistake, and an own goal, where the chances for the second leg are still alive.

Manchester United were able to stop Messi to a certain point, who also passed the ball to Luis Suarez who scored the first goal after Like Shaw deflected the ball and it was counted as an own goal. Manchester United weren’t effective in front of the net, where they wasted several chances.

Manchester United will be without Jesse Lingard and Luke Shaw for the second leg in Barcelona after they received a yellow card.

 

 

Man United players ratings

David De Gea: Crucial saves, by his hands and feet. 7/10

Lindelof: Wasn’t marking Messi well when Man Unitec conceded. 6.5/10

Smalling: Couldn’t stop Messi, but Messi’s pass went over his head. Was so harsh on Suarez and Messi today. 5/10

Ashley Young: Was close to get an early red card after his back tackle on Coutinho. Poor and random passes and ball distribution. 5/10

Luke Shaw: An own goal, and will be missing next match. Wasn’t supporting in the attack later through the match. 5/10

Pogba: A poor match, a couple of good moments but that’s not the Pogba of January and February. 5.5/10

Fred:   A poor performance in the midfield. Couldn’t stop Messi or Barcelona’s attack. 5.5/10

McTominay: His second Champions league match as a starter, but had a decent performance. He is proving himself. 7/10

Rashford: A poor match, but had some good passes such as the cross to Diago Dalot on the 40th minute. 5.5/10

Lukaku: Was so poor today, not effective at all. 5/10

Dalot: He lacks the experience up front, couldn’t convert Rashford’s cross to a goal, missed a big chance on the 40th minute. 5/10

Subs: 

Lingard: Wasn’t so good, and got booked. Will be missing next match 5/10

Anthony Martial: Tried a bit. 5/10

Pereira: Couldn’t do much N/A

Ole Gunner Solskjaer ( manager): Conceded just once from an own goal, but Barcelona was poor as well. A huge test for Solskjaer next week without two key players.  But was able to stop some of Messi’s magic. 6.5/10
